  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;

Short description:

Continuation of a course Sztuka Afryki (Z). The second part of the course is entirely dedicated to the history of theater (and other performative arts) on the African continent.

Full description:

The course includes both lectures on the history of theater in Africa and a workshop component, during which students are supposed to write a theatrical script based on a selected text. The presentation and evaluation of the script, utilizing elements characteristic of traditional African theater, will form the basis for the subject exam.

- can search for, analyze, evaluate and use information from different sources and can form critical judgments on its basis (K_U01)

- can indicate most important intellectual problems, dilemmas, aesthetic preferences taking shape inside the culture of a chosen region in Africa (K_U10)

- can analyze most important phenomena in the area of history, socio-political, linguistic or cultural situation of selected African countries (K_U11)

Social competences:

- can actively cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations (K_K2)

- is open to new ideas and trends as well as cultural diversity (K_K5)

- has awareness of the differences stemming from cultural, religious and philosophical variety and their influence on shaping legal processes (K_K6)
