  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Learning Arabic at advanced level. The course covers two areas of Arabic knowledge: theoretical and practical. A student should master all the passive and active language skills and be able to grasp all aspects of the Arab culture and language.

Full description:

The course focuses mainly on developing the habit of expanding vocabulary and complex syntactic structures. Developing skills of recognizing and applying language nuances and broadening the scope of semantic fields in Arabic. Developing the ability to express thoughts orally and in writing and creating complex statements with emphasis on the use of phraseology. Consolidation of communication skills in listening comprehension (including dialects) and speaking.

has extended knowledge of particular problems pertaining to the cultures of the Orient or Africa (within the scope of culture and literature or language or culture and religion issues) in a comparative perspective K_W02

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Continuous assessment, written or oral tests, final written and oral exam

Attendance control (max 10% of excused absences); in the case of absence due to illness, the medical certificate excusing this absence should be submitted within seven work days of the last day of the leave specified in the certificate.

The total number of excused and unexcused absences allowing for taking an examination is 30%.
