  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Classes on grammar of the first Indian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) help students to acquire theoretical material and are run parallel to the lectures “Survey of the First Indian Language”.

Full description:

The aim of the classes is to practise chosen grammatical topics presented during the lectures “Survey of the First Indian Language”. The exercises introduce the writing system and basic grammatical issues related to the phonology, morphology and syntax of the first Indian language.

has extensive knowledge of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil), its structure, history, script

is aware of the complex nature of a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil), its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of South Asia

is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political situation of the world

has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) into Polish
