ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 2.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

(in Polish) Student powinien posiadać znajomość gramatyki I języka indyjskiego (bengalski/hindi/sanskryt/tamilski) w zakresie określonym programem kształcenia na kierunku orientalistyka-indologia, dla osób, które ukończyły I rok studiów I stopnia.

Short description:

Classes on grammar of the first Indian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) help students to acquire theoretical material and are run parallel to the lectures “Survey of the First Indian Language”.

Full description:

The exercises serve to consolidate, deepen and broaden the practical knowledge of selected issues in the field of phonology, morphology and syntax of the first Indian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil).

Selected by the teacher depending on the language group.

has extensive knowledge of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil), its structure, history, script

K_W13

is aware of the complex nature of a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Sanskrit), its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of South Asia

K_W14

is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political situation of the world

has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Sanskrit) into Polish

K_U06

can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of South Asia and appropriately place them in their cultural context

has a good command of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Sanskrit) at the intermediate level

can translate literary texts and writings from a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Sanskrit) into Polish

can interpret key terms from the cultures of South Asia through linguistic/philological analysis

has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil)
