1. Hindi language - etymology, history, and users. Introducing oneself and greeting people. 2. Phonetics and phonology. The Devanagari script - additional characters and conjuncts. Writing lesson: conjuncts, nasal consonants and vowels. Numerals. 3. Personal pronouns; the verb 'to be'. Asking and answering questions about nationality ('Are you Indian'). Song 'Mera juta hai japani'. 4. The noun. The oblique case. 5. Simple postpositions. Exercises. 6. Reading a text 'Ram's family'. Talking about own family and home. 7. Possessive and demonstrative pronouns. Exercises. 8. Simple present tense. 9. Daily routines. 10. The adjective. Describing things (fruit and vegetables). Days of week. 11. Compound present tense of the verb 'to be'. Months and dates. Indian calender. 12. Simple past tense. 13. Compound postpositions. Exercises. 14. Constructions 'to like' and 'in order to'. 15. Learning outcomes: |
K_W12 has extensive knowledge of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil), its structure, history, script, as well as rudimentary knowledge of the 2nd Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) K_W13 is aware of the complex nature of a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil), its place and significance in the cultural and historical context of South Asia K_W14 is aware of the linguistic variety and its influence on the cultural and political situation of the world K_W15 has rudimentary knowledge of translation rules from a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) into Polish K_U06 can read, analyze and interpret literary texts and other works of culture (film, press, social writing) of South Asia and appropriately place them in their cultural context K_U12 has a good command of the 1st Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) at the intermediate level and the 2nd Indian/ South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) at the elementary level K_U13 can analyze and interpret source texts in a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) K_U14 can translate literary texts and writings from a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) into Polish K_U16 can fluently use the script of a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) and the necessary tools to learn and analyze it (traditional and electronic dictionaries, lexicons, linguistic corpora, data bases, etc.) K_U17 can properly function in the linguistic and cultural environment of South Asia K_U22 has a skill at formulating own opinions and conclusions in writing and in speech both in Polish and in a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) K_U24 can use electronic and internet tools both in Polish and in a chosen Indian/South Asian language (Bengali/Hindi/Sanskrit/Tamil) K_K01 understands the need to learn all one’s life K_K02 can cooperate and work in a group as well as forge relationships and build social relations K_K03 can establish relations and cooperate with representatives of other cultures K_K05 has awareness of the cultural distinctness and its religious, philosophical, traditional and historical roots and its significance for understanding modern world |
