Short description:

A2, beginner's level, according to A Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment, signifies a target level of language skills acquisition upon completion of a A2 course.

Full description:

Upon completion a student can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance (e.g. very basic personal and family information, shopping, local geography, employment); s/he can communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a simple and direct exchange of information on familiar and routine matters; s/he can describe in simple terms aspects of his/her background, immediate environment and matters in areas of immediate need

The aim of this course is to provide training in oral, aural and written Arabic in order to improve reading, comprehension, speaking and writing skills.

Learning outcomes:

On completing the course, the student:

1. communicates rather easily on topics and tasks connected with daily activities and typical social situations

2. identifies information in a variety of simple texts, necessary to fulfill non-lingustic objectives

3. makes analysis, synthesis and interpretation of information contained in simple texts and everyday material

4. presents, both orally and in writing, facts and opinions, giving reasons, in a simple way, for taking decisions

5. makes use of knowledge of culture of a given lingusitic region, acquired during the course

6. cooperates effectively within the group, assigning tasks for himself/herself and others

7. recognizes his/her own learning style and chooses ways for continuing self-development

8. accepts a variety of attitudes and opinions in interpersonal contacts

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

1. STATIONARY COURSE

a. Passing the language course consists of the following elements:

activity in classes: 25% of the grade

results of tests, partial tests, homework: 25% of the grade

final test result: 50% of the grade

b. To obtain a positive grade, you must demonstrate achievements in each

from the above-mentioned categories (a student who receives 0% in

any category).

c. Rating scale

99 – 100% 5! (excellent)

93 – 98% 5 (very good)

87 – 92% 4+ (good plus)

77–86% 4 (good)

71 – 76% 3+ (sufficient plus)

60 – 70% 3 (sufficient)

d. For completing a 60-hour language course, i.e. achieving the expected learning outcomes,

the student receives 2 ECTS.

e. For completing a 30-hour language course, i.e. achieving the expected learning outcomes,

student receives 1 ECTS.

f. In the case of 60-hour language classes, you can miss 6 hours of classes without

excuses. In the case of 30-hour language classes, it is permissible

missing four hours of classes without excuse
