Upon completion a student can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization; s/he can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; s/he can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. |
Learning outcomes: |
Level B2 After completing the course, the student: SKILLS B2_U1 - communicates in typical social, professional and academic situations B2_U2 - can easily read and understand texts maintained in various stylistic registers and on various topics B2_U3 - synthesizes the read text or the statement heard, concerning a wide range of social, academic and professional life B2_U4 - can formulate a functional text at a professional level B2_U5 - can independently translate a simple literary text KNOWLEDGE B2_W1 - is familiar with contemporary socio-cultural issues of a given language area B2_W2 - is aware of the complex nature of the language (e.g. grammar, inflection, phraseology) and its complexity and historical variability of its meanings B2_W3 – knows the basic principles of the theory and practice of translation SOCIAL COMPETENCE B2_K1 - works efficiently in a group, using the language taught, effectively assigning tasks to others and to oneself B2_K2 – knows learning strategies and understands the need for self-education and lifelong learning B2_K3 - uses metapragmatic knowledge of social behavior B2_K4 - is sensitive to problems arising from cultural differences and is able to interest others in linguistic and cultural knowledge of a given language area |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
SYNCHRONOUS REMOTE LEARNING COURSE a. Passing a foreign language course consists of the following elements: activity in class: 25% of the grade results of tests, partial tests, homework: 25% of the grade, final test result: 50% of the mark b. Achievements must be demonstrated for each to obtain a passing grade from the above-mentioned categories (a student who receives 0% of the grade in any category will not receive a credit) c. Grading scale 99-100% 5! (excellent) 93 - 98% 5 (very good) 87 – 92% 4+ (good plus) 77–86% 4 (good) 71 - 76% 3+ (sufficient plus) 60 - 70% 3 (sufficient) d. For completing a 60-hour language course, i.e. achieving the assumed learning outcomes, the student receives 2 ECTS. e. For completing a 30-hour language course, i.e. achieving the assumed learning outcomes, the student receives 1 ECTS. f. In the case of 60-hour language courses, you can miss 6 hours of classes without justification. In the case of 30-hour language courses, it is acceptable missing four hours of class without justification |
