  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

The course covers the most important elements that make up social research methodology, including research design, key theoretical approaches, data collection and data analysis.

Learning outcomes:

The student knows stages of research process.

The student understand the basic terminology in the field of methodology of social sciences.

The student is able to apply selected paradigms and theoretical orientations in own's short analyzes.

The student can work in a group.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

1. The condition for obtaining credit is attendance at classes (two absences are allowed) and performing assigned tasks, as well as obtaining at least 50% of the points on the final test.

2. The final grade consists of:

a. 60% - assessment of work during the semester, including activity in class, presentation (topics 4-5) and a research project (topics 13-14).

b. 40% - test mark (item 15)
