  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic issues European human rights systems, with particular emphasis on the standards of the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the European Union.

Full description:

The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic issues European human rights systems, with particular emphasis on the standards of the Council of Europe, the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and the European Union. We will focus on analysis of every sub-system and discussion about the role of the European system of human rights protection in the development of a modern concept of protection of individual rights in the international and national dimension. The studies will be concentrated on the interactions between individual subsystems and the possibilities of unifying the European system of human rights protection. All topics will be discussed in the context of the jurisprudence of international and national courts.

Has knowledge of legal systems concerning Human Rights Protection in Europe

1. Solves legal problems concerning the human rights protection system in Europe

2. Makes a critical analysis of the human rights protection system in Europe

Understands the meaning of Human Rights Proteciton legal system in Europe in relation between states and other international actors
