Short description:	The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the greatest Renaissance masterpieces and diverse interpretations.
Full description:	The lectures aim to provide students with knowledge based on multilingual literature and works found mainly outside Poland (the illustrative material on CD is the result of many years of the lecturer's trips and studies in Italy), while the seminars will enable students to verify their thoughts based on the set reading (architectural treatises, interpretation works etc.).

Learning outcomes:	Po zdaniu egzaminu studenci mają syntetyczną i analityczną orientację w historii sztuki europejskiego renesansu, manieryzmu, baroku, rokoka i klasycyzmu, znają najważniejsze dzieła architektury, malarstwa i rzeźby XIV-XVIII wieku oraz sylwetki najwybitniejszych twórców i na tej podstawie potrafią rozpoznawać cechy stylistyczne określonych dzieł artystycznych oraz sytuować je w szerszym kontekście historyczno-kulturowym. Potrafią również odczytywać treści ikonograficzne dzieł malarstwa i rzeźby zarówno sakralnej jak i świeckiej, a także programy ideowe zawarte w dziełach architektury.
