Full description:

Classes designed for students after a several-year Latin course. The aim is for students to perfect their language skills (syntax, inflection, translation, elements of historical grammar), enabling them to read and fully understand ancient Latin texts. The course is in the form of practical classes - students will translate and analyze selected excerpts in terms of grammar. The adopted system of work will enable everyone to have their say and present the effects of their work.

The topics will be decided together with the participants and will be compatible with their needs and expectations (repetition of selected elements of syntax, learning new ones). We will also choose together which texts by classical authors we will work on in a given semester. Knowledge of every new or revised problem will be checked in a test. At the end of the semester students will sit a test (translation of a text and a grammar assignment). Students will receive credits for good attendance, passing all the component tests and positive marks for the semester.
