The graduation seminar serves one purpose: for each of its participants to write a successful graduation (bachelor’s) thesis. |
Full description: |
The seminar will include three separate topic cycles: - theoretical introduction (up to 3 classes) - the correct form of a graduation thesis: its structure, language, technical issues (e.g. compiling a bibliography and correct placement of footnotes). Another major issue will be indicating a graduation thesis’ scientific character, and its place in the system of recorded knowledge (i.e. among other scientific works) - joint searches for and detailed definition of the topics of individual theses - independent searches as well as brainstorming in class (approx. 15-20 classes) - presentation of completed sections of the theses by individual students, followed by a group discussion |

Learning outcomes: |
The result of taking part in the graduation seminar should be a proper thesis (i.e. one which receives a positive mark) written by the student. A secondary result will be the ability to write scientific texts - in both Polish and New Greek. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Assessment will be based on: - active participation in classes - a complete outline of the bachelor’s thesis (submitted by the end of the first semester) - one completed chapter of the bachelor’s thesis (submitted by the end of the second semester) |
