Prerequisites (description): | (in Polish) Health declaration - after knowing the ruls of the sport section of the University of Warsaw I declare, that Im healthy and I can fully take part in these exercises. In case of any difficulties, I will inform the teacher. |
Short description: |
(in Polish) Aqua body shape: a form of cross training in water, which is based on exercises strengthening various groups of muscles and involves elements of posture exercises, which build correct posture and enhance strength and endurance. It is intended for both the younger and the older, the slim and the overweight, the fit and those who are just beginning to work on their fitness and figure. Basic swimming skills are required. |

(in Polish) In the classes, students: – Enhance motor co-ordination; – Actively and passively stretch muscles to eliminate excessive tension or contracture; – Strengthen weakened muscle groups and postural muscles (responsible for maintaining upright posture); – Improve shoulder and hip joint mobility; – Improve spine mobility. Exercise is performed in a separate section of a swimming pool, in shallow or deep water with the use of flotation belts, while standing on the pool floor or floating. The routine is based on special elements which make use of water resistance. Some pieces of equipment, such as resistance bands, noodles, mats, balls, discs and gymstics, are used. |
Learning outcomes: |
(in Polish) Students: - will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning; - will be able to exercise safely; - will learn how to work in a team; - will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy; - will be able to use sports equipment correctly; - will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff. |
