Learning and improving the skills of safe falling and the use of judo techniques in a standing and ground position, as well as the use of techniques in sports fighting and self-defense.

Full description:

For the sake of health, during judo exercises, students will learn the principles of safe falling and will have the opportunity to improve them in various conditions. Students will learn techniques of throwing (nage waza) and catching (katame waza). As part of learning throws, participants of exercises will learn the throws of individual groups, i.e .:

- hand throws (those vase),

- hip throws (koshi waza),

- kick throws (ashi waza),

- sacrifice rolls (sutemi waza).

In addition, during the classes, students will: - develop coordination and efficiency, - perform muscle strengthening exercises, - do stretching exercises. By carrying out the exercises, students will also acquire the skill of sports combat (they will learn the tactics and rules of combat), as well as learn the possibilities of using judo techniques. in self-defense.

Learning outcomes:

After completing the exercises, the student:

- has a general knowledge of the structure and functioning of his body,

- can exercise in accordance with safety rules,

- knows how to cooperate in a group,

- understands the need to take care of the physical fitness necessary to maintain health,

- is able to properly use sports equipment,

- acquires specialized motor skills,

- falls safely to the mat,

- effectively performs techniques from the basic groups of throws, basic techniques of holding, levers and choking.

An additional effect is the increase in strength and general endurance, thanks to which the body's tolerance to physical effort will increase. The increase in strength caused by the increase in muscle volume should lead to qualitative changes in the body, such as: reducing the volume of adipose tissue and improving the appearance of the figure. By performing stretching exercises, the muscle tissue will become more flexible, which will increase the range of motion within many joints. Practicing judo for a longer period of time leads to the acquisition of self-defense skills.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The basis for completing the course is systematic participation in classes (2 absences are allowed, for which the student is not obliged to justify). In addition, the student is obliged to actively participate in classes.
