Prerequisites (description):

(in Polish) Głównym wymogiem przyjęcia do grupy zajęciowej jest brak przeciwwskazań zdrowotnych.

O chorobach mogących stanowić ograniczenia w bezpiecznym wykonywaniu ćwiczeń należy poinformować prowadzącego zajęcia.

Na zajęcia zostaną przyjęci wszyscy studenci, którzy się na nie zapiszą.

Zajęcia odbywają się raz w tygodniu bez względu na warunki atmosferyczne, czas trwania 1,5 godziny. Zbiórka w holu głównym Centrum Sportu i Rekreacji UW ul. Banacha 2a.

Wymagane: strój sportowy dostosowany do zajęć na świeżym powietrzu (spodnie dresowe, kurtka, wygodne obuwie sportowe lub trekkingowe).

Rzeczy osobiste chowane będą w szafkach na terenie pływalni dlatego wymagane będą klapki pływackie lub wejście boso.

Nordic walking is energetic marching with specially designed poles, enhancing fitness and developing various muscle groups. The classes are held outdoors.

Full description: (in Polish)

Nordic walking is a form of an outdoor physical activity. With proper technique, it exercises about 90% of all muscles.

By performing exercises, students will:

– develop general fitness

– enhance physical condition, particularly stamina, strength and agility

– strengthen all muscle groups

– increase the elasticity of articular ligaments and strengthen tendons

– relieve joints and improve spine mobility

– strengthen the cardio-vascular system

– improve breathing capacity.

Learning outcomes: (in Polish)

Students:

- will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning;

- will be able to exercise safely;

- will learn how to work in a team;

- will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy;

- will be able to use sports equipment correctly;

- will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.

The basis for passing the course is systematic and active participation in the classes.
