Prerequisites (description):	Health declaration - after knowing the ruls of the sport section of the University of Warsaw I declare, that Im healthy and I can fully take part in these exercises. In case of any difficulties, I will inform the teacher.
Short description:	The basic elements of boxing techniques include punches (jab, cross, hook and uppercut) and defensive manoeuvres (such as slipping, bobbing, countering or cover-up). The boxing classes involve sports training in which students will acquire boxing techniques, learn tactics, improve their physical fitness and develop mental qualities to maximise their achievements.
Full description:	Fist fighting is one of the oldest sports. It was practised in ancient Greece and Rome. However, competitive fights were very brutal and even ended in death sometimes. The initial fights went with few rules and did not have a lot in common with modern boxing. The latter was born in 1719 in England. Owing to Jack Broughton, boxing was codified in the second half of the 18th century, when the basic rules of this sport were introduced. Since 1867, fighters have been required to wear gloves. Boxers are known for speed, pinpoint accuracy, superb motor co-ordination, good reflexes, outstanding focus, muscle strength, determination, strategic thinking, self-confidence and humbleness to both the craft and the opponent.
Learning outcomes:	Students: - will acquire the general knowledge of the human body and its functioning; - will be able to exercise safely; - will learn how to work in a team; - will understand the need to stay fit in order to remain healthy; - will be able to use sports equipment correctly; - will develop special motor skills under the guidance of the Physical Education and Sports Centre’s staff.
