Full description: |
Upon completion a student can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts and recognize implict meanings; s/he can express himself/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions; s/hecan use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes; s/he can produce clear, well-structured, detailed texts on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organizational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices. |
Learning outcomes: |
On completing the course, the student: (Skills) 1. expresses himself/herself in a precise and comprehensive way, using effectively various kinds of oral or written discourse in social, academic and professional contacts and matters 2. adopts the style of oral and written discourse to a potential recipient, making an appropriate use of the rules of discourse organization 3. makes analysis, synthesis and interpretation of information, both heard or read, from a wide range of longer, complex texts on general subjects as well as those relating to his/her subject of studies 4. participates actively and spontaneously in conversations, discussion and lectures, conducted by native and other users of the language 5. uses a wide range of vocabulary enabling precise expression of emotions and formulating ideas and opinions on abstract, complex and unfamiliar topics 6. solves few communication problems independently, consulting dictionaries or asking the speaker to explain details (Knowledge and Attitudes) 7. makes use of knowledge, acquired during the course, of culture of a given lingusitic region 8. cooperates effectively within the group, assigning tasks for himself/herself and others 9. recognizes his/her own leraning style and chooses ways for contunuing self-development 10. shows tolerance towards a variety of attitudes and opinions in interpersonal contacts |
