Full description:

Upon completion a student can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization; s/he can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; s/he can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

has knowledge of

-how to differentiate between formal and informal register

-how to use and understand vocabulary specific to international contracts

-how to comprehend long, complex sentences and paragraphs typical of international contracts

Skills:

is able to

-communicate appropriately and negotiate meaning in a variety of realistic legal situations in the business and legal contexts

-employ effectively legal expressions and vocabulary in negotiations, meetings and while advising and interacting with a client

-display consultancy skills, justify and explain complex procedures, clarify incomplete information, refer to documents, use appropriate register

Social competences:

is able to

-cooperate and engage pro-actively with other students in complex and specialized contexts to achieve aims

On the completion of the course the graduate student:

● knows core terms and issues related to HRM,

● understands specialist language, used in supporting and personal documentation,

● can distinguish between labour law and employment in Poland and the UK,

● knows grievance procedures,

● has a basic knowledge about employee counselling.

● can use specialist vocabulary, used by HR professionals,

● can communicate in his/her area of expertise at B2+ level,

● can describe competences, responsibilities and procedures,

● can write a CV and covering letter,

● can conduct a job interview and a disciplinary meeting,

● can hold staff appraisal interviews,

● can solve possible workplace conflicts.
