Full description:

Upon completion a student can understand the main ideas of complex texts on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his/her field of specialization; s/he can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party; s/he can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options.

Learning outcomes:

Student can:

- take part in a discussion, choose arguments correctly, formulate a precise thought, engage in polemics with any opponent

- write an abstract of a scientific paper, make lecture notes, summarize a read and heard text

-read and listen to a text containing specialized vocabulary and make a critical analysis of the text

Student is prepared to take part in a scientific event or conference

3. Social skills.

Upon the course completion, the student is prepared to make public speeches and mediation.
