This general introductory course to the European integration covers the historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of integration, in the possibly long and wide perspective. The process of creating of the European Community/Union will be presented in more detailed way. The present trends in European integration, including political and monetary union, and the ongoing debate on the Constitution for Europe, will be commented. The institutions of the EU and the way how they make decisions will be presented. Also, the European Union's Enlargement of 2004, especially in the Polish context, will be evaluated.

14. EU as a global player in economy and security.

15. EU's trade, economic and monetary policies (8 h.).

Podstawowym źródłem wiedzy o integracji są dwa traktaty europejskie. Proszę wszystkich studentów o zapoznanie się - im głębiej, tym lepiej - z ich treścią, strukturą, opisem rynków, polityk i instytucji:

1/ Traktat ustanawiający Wspólnotę Europejską (Treaty establishing the European Community);

2/ Traktat o Unii Europejskiej (Treaty on European Union).

Teksty są dostępne w formie drukowanej i elektronicznej (np.: europa.eu.int; czy: ukie.gov.pl). W każdym referacie i prezentacji studenckiej winny występować odniesienia do traktatów. Wiele pytań w teście zaliczeniowym będzie wymagać podstawowej znajomości traktatów.
