Short description: |
The course is dedicated to developing the teaching competences and skills of English teachers in a digital context and work in synchronous and asynchronous mode, in particular how to prepare materials and use digital tools to develop language elements and skills, integrate digital materials into educational projects and place them on digital platforms. |

The curriculum covers the following topics: 1. New technologies - introduction: tools that we will use and communicate with 2. Digital biography - our students and we (digital natives and digital immigrants); who is the digital teacher 3. Online copyright ; Creative Commons licenses and use of digital content for educational purposes 4. Teaching language elements with new technologies - Vocabulary - Grammar - Spelling - Pronunciation 5. Learning and practicing of language skills with new technologies: - Speaking - Listening - Writing - Reading - Interaction - Mediation 6. Role and use of dictionaries and electronic translators 7. Video-lessons live; video conferencing and streaming tools 8. Gamification - using game mechanics to support education 9. Digital student portfolio 10.Organization of remote and blended work – learning process management systems (LMS) 11. Testing and assessing online progress |

Learning outcomes: |
KNOWLEDGE: the graduate knows and understands K_W03 innovative ideas and techniques of integrated teaching of languages and content subjects K_W04 the methods (based on education research), norms, procedures and standards of practice in various educational institutions, including institutions of higher education, related to teaching foreign languages K_W10 the methodology to perform common tasks, based on education research; the standards and procedures used in various pedagogic and educational areas SKILLS: the graduate is able to K_U02 individually plan and implement, using also communication and information techniques, typical and innovative projects connected with teaching foreign languages in secondary schools, vocational schools, in adult and higher education and in other educational institutions involved in teaching foreign languages K_U05 perform educational tasks using digital tools, methods of remote communication and various media K_U07 assess the suitability of a variety of methods, procedures and best practices, and select and apply the appropriate approach with the goal of accomplishing tasks and solving problems related to foreign language teaching SOCIAL COMPETENCES: the graduate is prepared to K_K02 critically reflect on the level of their skills and knowledge, constantly develop professionally and personally, self-assess their competences, improve their skills, plan their development and training, consult experts in case of difficulties K_K07 correctly identify the priorities for the implementation of specified tasks |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
- making one presentation outlining three different online applications/programmes/tools that can be used in a language lesson in a primary school OR conducting one mini-lesson using at least three different digital tools in pursuit of a chosen language topic for any primary school class. - attendance and participation in classes - completing assignments on the Kampus platform on time - 1 absence allowed |
