Upon completion a student can understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters regularly encountered in work, school, leisure etc; s/he can deal with most situations likely to arise whilst traveling in area where the language is spoken; s/he can produce simple connected text on topics are familiar or of personal interest; s/he can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions and briefly give reasons and explanations for opinions and plans |

Learning outcomes: |
On completing the course, the student: the student is able to search, analyse, evaluate, select and use information using a variety of sources and methods the student is able to communicate, using a variety of channels and techniques, with experts in those academic subjects that are relevant to their course of studies the student is capable of presenting their ideas, concerns, suggestions and arguments, supporting them with published opinions on the subject the student has a knowledge and understanding of the basic concepts and principles governing copyright and authors' rights the student has elementary knowledge of the process of interpersonal communication and social patterns the student has comprehensive knowledge of the principles and ethical standards in education the student understands the importance of lifelong learning the student is able to interact and work in a group |
