Short description:

The aim of the course is to broaden the students' knowledge and understanding of English grammar and to improve the grammatical correctness of students.

Full description:

During the course, students learn the grammatical terminology used to describe English grammar, learn to analyze formal meanings, precisely formulate thoughts and build confidence in the correct understanding of the information provided by the interlocutor, especially in English. In addition, the course enables a thorough analysis of grammatical and lexical issues that cause various types of difficulties, e.g. the differences between the nature of Polish and English.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

KNOWLEDGE

The student knows and understands:

K_W01 to an advanced degree selected facts, theories, processes, and phenomena related to the study of English grammar which have practical application in teaching foreign languages in preschool and at the first and second educational stages

K_W02 essential terminology related to the teaching of grammar

K_W16 to a significant extent, the process of interpersonal communication and social patterns in Polish and English

SKILLS

The student is able to:

K_U01 search for, analyse, evaluate, select and use information, using a variety of sources and methods, in Polish and English

K_U02 independently plan and implement typical projects related to foreign language teaching in kindergartens and primary schools and other institutions teaching foreign languages

K_U03 diagnose the needs, abilities and aptitudes of every learner, as well as design and implement individually tailored teaching and educational programs

K_U09 analyse their own actions and identify possible areas for change in the future

SOCIAL COMPETENCES

The student is prepared to:

K_K01 pursue lifelong learning

K_K02 reflect on the level of their skills and knowledge, constantly develop professionally and personally, self-assess their competences, improve their skills, plan their development and training
