Short description:

Course aims:

to introduce various ways of planning a mini lesson or a lesson in class;

to demonstrate the value of observation and to motivate trainees to closely observe and reflect on video lessons and micro-teaching carried out in class;

to create a working and supportive atmosphere in which students will give feedback and evaluate their presentations;

to present a variety of ways and techniques for teaching grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation in a practical way to suggest readings as theoretical backgroud of the course;

to inspire trainees to search for new ways of planning lessons and new ideas for tasks at different levels and for different age groups;

to demonstrate the use of computers in language teaching.

features of English pronunciation, intonation and rhythm

presenting sound-exercises and techniques

exercises supporting the pronunciation of difficult sounds, exercises in rhythm and intonation exercses focusing on differences in pronunciation and spelling

5. Computer assisted language teaching

language teaching CDs and ways of using them in class

internet addresses thematically linked with learners needs/lesson aims

planning and implementing a computer assisted lesson by the whole class

discussion based on homework tasks

portfolio documenting the terms work: lesson plans, activities and exercises for learners, observations, teaching aids, etc.
