ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

A seminar linked to the lecture ‘Quantitative economic, social and spatial analyzes ‘. The goal of the seminar is to practice the quantitative and graphical analysis applicable in social and economic research. I covers data management issues, data transformation, basic statistics and econometrics, maps & graphs and report writing exercises. Students are trained in using professional software ( Statistica, Stata, QGIS)

A seminar linked to the lecture : ‘Quantitative economic, social and spatial analyzes’. The goal of the seminar is to practice the quantitative and graphical analysis applicable in social and economic research. I covers data management issues, data transformation, basic statistics and econometrics, maps & graphs and report writing exercises. Students are trained in using professional software Statistica, Stata, QGIS)

Student (1) knows and understands the main quantitative methods used in urban and regional studies

(2)describes techniques and instruments of acquiring data and modelling of spatial processes (K_W01)

(3)can choose techniques and quantitative methods to solving of particular problems from the field of urban and regional studies

(4) creates quantitative indices and uses them in quantitative analysis by using specialized computer programming

(5)can prepare and carry out individual research project in the field of urban and regional studies in which quantitative methods are employed

Evaluation is issued based on the quality of the research project led by students (100%).
