Założenia (opisowo): | Students participating in seminar should have a basic knowledge on EU law and on constitutional law of their own states. It is desirable to possess some skills of independent legal research. |

Skrócony opis: |
The purpose of the seminar is to encourage students to make an in-depth research on EU constitutional law issues and to discuss their papers with a group of internationally renowned experts. The course has a form of a number of preparatory meetings (happening always on Mondays, at 8 pm) culminating in two-days block-seminar (crash course) during which papers are presented and thoroughly discussed. This year seminar takes place under honorary patronage of Professor Adam Bodnar, Minister of Justice. The final seminar will take place on 13/14 May 2024. |

The seminar, which is organized annually, is devoted to various aspects of the constitutional reality of the European Union. The course is structured as a crash course, it consists of a number of preparatory meetings and the final two-day seminar, chaired by world-known experts in EU law. The participating students shall be divided into teams and assigned topics to elaborate on, which eventually are to take the shape of essays 20-25 pages long. Before the final two-day seminar, there will be 3-4 preparatory meetings with Professor Wyrzykowski and the tutors, during which the work progress shall be monitored and the students' ideas and problems discussed. This year's subject is 'Permanent Evolution or Stagnation? The EU of the 21st Century'. The specific topics for your essays are to be decided in cooperation with the student participating and based on their unique skills. The first preparatory meeting will take place on 26 February 2024, 8:15 pm, at the Raphael Taubenschlag Library (room 203, Old Faculty of Law). |
Literatura: |
There is no requirement to read any specific literature. Rather in the context of their papers to be presented during the seminar students are expected to read the most important literature available - for the purpose of preparing successful paper. |

Knowledge: - knowledge on current issues concerning EU constitutional law, - in-depth knowledge on specific area of research covered by the paper prepared by student Skills: - presentation and discussion of paper at open seminar, - research skills in EU constitutional law area. ability to communicate orally and in writing in academic English (B2+ level) |
Metody i kryteria oceniania: |
Students will be assessed individually on the basis of scholar quality of their papers and understanding of problems covered. |
