This short 8-hours long course concentrates on the Lithuanian baroque art in the 17th century.

The aim of the series of lectures is to give a short introduction to the Lithuanian baroque art. During the lectures there are explained the main stages and facts of Lithuanian baroque art historical development and revealed social and cultural factors which have determined this development. It is provided the knowledge about plastic and iconographic peculiarities of Lithuanian baroque art, about the most important Lithuanian artists and art objects. A special attention is given to Vilnius St. Apostles Peter and Paul's Church, St. Casimir's Chapel in Vilnius Cathedral, Pažaislis Camaldolese Monastery ensemble and to the 17th century stucco moulding art which was created by the artists from the Ticino-Lombardy territories.

- identify and analyze the main Lithuanian baroque art objects from an art criticism perspective

in the field of SOCIAL COMPETENCIES to be able to discuss about the main Lithuanian baroque art objects
