Skrócony opis: |
In the course the fundaments of various nuclear physics techniques that can be applied to the study of manufacts wil be reviewed. |
Pełny opis: |
The course will cover the physics principles behind non-destructive techniques that can be applied to the study of works of art. Physics principles behind non-destructive techniques that can be applied to the study of works of art. - X-ray based analysis: X-ray fluorescence (XRF); Total-reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF) - Ion-beam based analysis: Proton-induced X-ray emission (PIXE); Particle-induced γ-ray emission (PIGE); Backscattering: Rutherford (RBS) and non-Rutherford; Nuclear-reaction analysis (resonant and non-resonant) - Mössbauer spectroscopy - Neutron-based analysis methods - Accelerator Mass Spectrometry (AMS) - Dating. Radioisotope dating:14C; Dating beyond the radiocarbon barrier (Pb isotopic ration; Obsidians dating); Thermoluminescence dating |
