Założenia (opisowo): | The classes are open to both Polish and foreign exchange students (Erasmus and bilateral cooperation agreements with the University of Warsaw). Knowledge of English at least at the B2 level is required (there is no need for the formal certification). It is desirable but not necessary to have the general knowledge about private law (optimally a course in the civil and possibly in the commercial law) and command of languages other than English, in particular German and/or French. |

Comparative law is a research method applied in the science of law which consists in an identification of similarities and differences occurring in the legal systems of different states. The comparative method has various objectives: in particular it is applied in science, litigation practice and legislative works. The course aims at making an introduction to the theory and practice of comparative research in the field of private law. Polish law serves as the point of departure; primarily considered will be the continental (civil law) systems of private law and to a lesser extent also the common law. |

Comparative law is a research method applied in the science of law which consists in an identification of similarities and differences occurring in the legal systems of different states. The comparative method has various objectives: in particular it is applied in science, litigation practice and legislative works. The course aims at making an introduction to the theory and practice of comparative research in the field of private law.
