ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 25.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Prerequisites (description):

The seminar aims to:

- preparing students to write master's theses,

- revision of the basic issues in the field of public administration and administrative law,

- discussing current problems concerning public administration

Short description:

During the seminar, students prepare to write their MA theses. For this purpose, the methodology of writing works is discussed, students choose the topics of work, prepare work plans and summaries. As part of the repetition of the topic, basic issues in the field of public administration and administrative law are discussed.

Current problems of public administration are discussed on the basis of reading material (court judgments, press articles, specialist texts).

Full description:

The seminar prepares students to write their master's theses. For this purpose, the methodology of writing theses is first discussed, then the students together with the teacher formulate the topics of the works. The next stage is the preparation of work plans and outlines that summarize the content of the work. As part of the repetition of topics in the field of public administration and administrative law, students prepare a presentation on specific topics, such as, for example, legal forms of administration, administrative entities. Current problems of public administration are discussed on the basis of reading material (court judgments, press articles, specialist texts).

Bibliography:

The scope of the literature is variable and depends on the jurisprudence and currently published texts.

Learning outcomes:

- preparation and defense of the thesis,

- knowledge of the current issues of public administration.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The grade for participation in the seminar takes into account the activity in the classroom and the progress in writing the thesis.
