Skrócony opis:	(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the lecture is to introduce students to basic ideas of psychological measurement. The course is primarily designed to make student understand the basic theoretical issues concerning both construction and utilizing psychological tests. Students will be familiarized with the fundamental vocabulary and logic of psychological measurement and behavioral assessment. The course will develop student capacity for critical judgment of the adequacy of measures to assess behavior.The aim of the lecture is to introduce students to basic ideas of psychological measurement. Pełny opis:	(tylko po angielsku) n The focus of the course is on the acquisition of knowledge related to test theory and test construction that will allow students to evaluate critically the tests considered in the course and those that are currently in use in the field of psychological testing. During the class students will be introduced with main concepts and approaches to psychological testing. First, students will learn about basic psychometric features of a psychological test, such as reliability (e.g. test-retest, internal consistency, inter-scorer reliability, Item Response Theory) , validity (content, criterion and construct validity) and norms. They will be familiarized with psychometric formulas and be able to evaluate the psychometric characteristics of any published psychological test. Next, students will learn about test construction and phenomena related to testing, e.g. bias in response, cross-cultural context etc. During the class they will also prepare their own brief test and present at the end of the semester.

Efekty uczenia się:	(tylko po angielsku) Students know basic statistics and methods necessary for empirical research. Students know main approaches to psychological testing and test construction. Students know most popular tests measuring psychological constructs. Students know how to evaluate tests. Student who pass this course should be able to understand logic of design and psychometric properties behind any psychological test.
