Skrócony opis: |
(tylko po angielsku) The aim of the seminar is to: (1) familiarize students with the concept of culture, its operationalization in psychological studies, as well as with lack of cultural sensitivity in research and practice; (2) foster understanding of cross-cultural differences in various areas of psychological functioning; and (3) foster understanding of effects of culture on psychological processes, e.g. parenting effects on child developmental outcomes. |
Efekty uczenia się: |
(tylko po angielsku) A. Knowledge: (1) Students will know why cultural sensitivity is needed in psychological research and practice. (2) Student will know how to operationalize cross-cultural differences. (3) Student will know main areas of cross-cultural research. B. Skills: (1) Students will know how to plan cross cultural study. (2) Student will be able to include culturally-sensitive approach to psychological practice and research. (3) Students will be able to detect culture bias in psychological research. C. Social competences Students will be aware of the cross-cultural and within-cultural diversity of individual and social behaviors and respects that diversity. |
