ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

Short description:

Literary forms and genres’ analysis. Basics of narrative studies. Italian writing workshop.

Full description:

Various literary forms and genres as well as basic components of narrative studies shall be analysed and practiced during the course.

The course classes shall be based on the linguistic richness of the contemporary Italian novels.

The course is aimed at delving into reading and writing in Italian, with special attention paid to the vocabulary and style, as well as development of the awareness, that writing can be used as a tool to convey personal view of the world, to communicate with the world, with others and with ourselves.

Learning outcomes:

Knowledge:

- has an in-depth knowledge of the language as the basic form of expression and and as medium of a given culture, reflecting its characteristic historical

and cultural processes

- is well familiar with the methods of analysing literary texts

Skills:

- can interpret and analyse literary texts independently, taking into consideration their historical and regional context

- can write papers such as: short stories, articles, essays in Italian

Social competences:

- in discussion, the students respect the opinions od their companions and uses substantive arguments

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Theoretical aspects shall be verified during oral tests, while papers shall be read-out and analysed, with particular consideration of their style and expresiveness.
