Teaching methods: |
The eclectic method with the main focus on the communicative teaching approach, and elements of CLI (content language instruction); Task-based methods, self-study and student's autonomy focus; interactive working techniques (pair and group work; role-plays, simulations, discussions); focus on lexis, functional language, communicative and inductive presentation and practice of grammar( discovery techniques; active grammar use in communicative tasks). Focus on exam techniques (preparation for the university English language exam). |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
The student will be given a credit/ a final grade on the basis of the following criteria: active participation and presence during classes, preparation for classes and homework assignements, the results obtained in the tests (at least 60%). Grades: 99 – 100% 5! (excellent) 93 – 98% 5 (very good) 87 – 92% 4+ (good +) 77 – 86% 4 (good) 71 – 76% 3+ (satisfactory +) 60 – 70% 3 (satisfactory) The student attending the course (of 60 hours) mustn't be absent more than 3 times a semester. |
