Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

Stationary courses (100% of teaching and learning takes place in the classroom)

The final grade is drawn from following components:

Attendance and activity (performance) in the classroom: 25% of the grade

Test results, partial tests, homework: 25% of the grade

Final test results: 50% of the grade.

To obtain credits for the course one must demonstrate achievement in each of the above categories. If a student happens to receive 0% in any of the above-mentioned categories he/she is not eligible to receive credits.

Grading scale

99 - 100% Grade: 5!

93 - 98% Grade: 5

87 - 92% Grade: 4+

77 - 86% Grade: 4

71 - 76% Grade: 3+

60 - 70% Grade: 3

Notes:

Upper-intermediate general English course (B2 level) for the students of vaious faculties.

The main focus is on listening and speaking, using new grammar structures in communication, vocabulary building and examination practice.

Additional materials: DVD extracts from films and TV programmes, newspaper/Internet articles.
