Brief description

Drilling, as a branch of technical knowledge, is the entire range of issues related to the implementation of boreholes in the earth's crust for geological and mining research: reservoir, hydrogeological, geological engineering, and technical boreholes for various purposes. The lecture includes a discussion of issues related to the methodology of execution of drilling for geological purpose and exploitation. Presented is the technical characteristics and intended use of different types of drilling rigs and drilling technology for various methods.

Brief description

The content of the course are the methods of acquisition geoinformation, its storage, processing, sharing, and use in the work of engineering geology. Almost 100% of geological information has geospatial reference, that is geoinformation. In the Earth sciences, which include geology, geospatial information mainstreaming is necessary for the proper conduct of research and analysis, both in the cognitive as well as in the area of practical activities - including engineering. During the course, students will learn about the types of geoinformation, forms of storage and processing methods and usage. These classes provides basic knowledge and skills necessary for the proper implementation of the programs of other classes in later semesters of engineering studies and the master of the technical profile.

Brief description

Petrology describes the genesis of three main rock types - igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary through the different processes leading to their formation. Petrology describes mineralogical composition and geochemical features of rocks as well as conditions of their formation. The subject is closely connected with geodynamics, structural geology (in particular with the plate tectonics), sedimentology (particulary analysis of sedimentary basins), geochemistry of igneous and metamorphic rocks and with mineralogy.
