The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the role of psychologists in activities for people with disabilities

The course includes theoretical and practical issues concerning the cultural and social aspects of the way deaf people communicate. The workshops provide for mastery by students of basic knowledge about the social aspects of the Deaf community, Deaf culture and the role of Polish Sign Language (PJM) and other types of sign systems in their lives. Activities include developing students' communication skills through conducting practical conversations with deaf people.

(in Polish) Ćwiczenia są przeznaczone dla osób zainteresowanych zagadnieniami współczesnej rehabilitacji zawodowej osób z niepełnosprawnościami. Na zajęciach studenci zapoznają się z różnymi systemami wsparcia, których głównym wyróżnikiem są oparte na dowodach naukowych działania (evidence based practice).

Zajęcia oferują studentom aktywność w formie samodzielnego decydowania o ich przebiegu i zdobywania wiedzy zgodnie z ich potrzebami. Dzięki temu studenci poznają praktyczne oraz teoretyczne aspekty współczesnej rehabilitacji zawodowej, do której należą dobrze opisane i zbadane metody wsparcia jak: zatrudnienie wspomagane (Supported Employment-SE), indywidualne zatrudnienie i wsparcie (Individual Placement and Support-IPS) oraz zatrudnienie przejściowe (Transient Employment). Studenci zapoznają się również z funkcjonowaniem osób z niepełnosprawnościami w otoczeniu społeczno- zawodowym, kształtowanym przez standardy nie biorące pod uwagę specyfiki funkcjonowania tych osób.

The course aims to familiarize students with the basic information about developmental psychology, risk and protective factors, diagnostic classifications of mental and behavioural disorders and selected disorders will be discussed.

• Classes - 30 hours

The course includes the practical presentation of the issues concerning the cultural and social aspects of the Deaf life. During language workshops, the participants learn the basic psychological and sociological aspects of the Deaf community, the Deaf culture and the importance of PJM in Deaf peoples’ life. The basic form of language classes are language workshops held with the participation of Deaf people as native PJM signers. The course also includes practice hours, during which the participants will use PJM as the target language. The course is 30 workshop class hours in duration. The course objectives are: (1) Improve the basic language and communicative competence in PJM; (2) Provide the participants with the ability to use PJM in practice by holding conversations with the Deaf; (3) Provide the participants with the ability to hold more and more complex conversations in PJM; (4) Provide the participants with the ability to create stories and narratives on different subjects.

(in Polish) Celem kursu jest refleksja nad istotą związku ciało - psychika. Będziemy rozważać tę relację z punktu widzenia rozwoju Ja cielesnego, powstawania zaburzeń obrazu ciała oraz z perspektywy psychopatologii rozwojowej, czyli w kontekście genezy chorób przewlekłych. Punktem odniesienia będzie teoria więzi psychicznej i wybrane teorie odwołujące się do myślenia psychodynamicznego. W odwołaniu do literatury przedmiotu będziemy poznawać mechanizmy powstawania zaburzeń związku psychika - ciało oraz sposoby ich leczenia. Szczególna uwaga zostanie poświęcona chorobom przewlekłym. Poddamy namysłowi różne formy pomocy psychologicznej. Poznamy podstawowe mechanizmy terapii zorientowanych psychodynamicznie, będziemy analizować zasady terapii ciała, oddziaływania poprzez metaforę, rysunek, z udziałem zwierząt, itp. Rozważania teoretyczne będą bogato ilustrowane materiałem, odwołującym się do własnych doświadczeń klinicznych osoby prowadzącej.

During the workshop participants will have opportunity to experience the way people with different disabilities and chronic diseases perceive the world and which difficulties they have to face in everyday life.
