Brief description

Course covers issues of professional ethics related directly to the fundamental ethical issues arising from the journalistic profession practice. The primary criterion for selection of these problems is their subsequent use in professional life. Classes focus on two levels of analysis:

- The theoretical assumptions associated with the essence of ethics and axiology especially defining the concept of good and evil, as well as discussing the basic standards and principles (such as freedom, truth, honesty), to make students aware that in the whole philosophy of journalism there is no unbiased ethical basis

- practical assumptions on the analysis of decisions, statements of self-control, bodies operating in the journalistic community (Council of Media Ethics, courts operating in a collegial journalists associations); real casus study, violations of ethical standards and ethical analysis of media and journalistic integrity
