Jak pozornie mała zmiana językowa może wywołać znaczący efekt? Na przykładzie tekstów autentycznych będą przedstawione różne sposoby wykorzystywania perswazyjnego lub manipulacyjnego rozmaitych zasobów języka (gramatycznych, semantycznych, leksykalnych, pragmatycznych, dyskursywnych).

W trakcie zajęć omówione zostaną zagadnienia dotyczące pamięci historycznej (wyparcie pamięci o odpowiedzialności Włochów w Afryce, przemoc kolonialna, Afryka jako kraina mitu i fikcji), a także współczesnej, złożonej tożsamości kulturowej i językowej leżącej u podstaw literatury postkolonialnej.
