Various concepts of natural resources are presented. The issue of resources depletion is discussed in particular, together with concepts of static, dynamic and economic limits. |

Objectives of the course: The aim of this course is to train students in a comprehensive assessment of natural environmental resources. It shows both positive aspects and risks related to application of particular assessment methods. Course contents: Essentials problems: Various concepts of natural resources are presented. The issue of resources depletion is discussed in particular, together with concepts of static, dynamic and economic limits. Litosphere and its fuels - division, resources and output. The ocean bed mineral resourses deposits. New trends in global power industry (renewable resources). Global water resources and their mulitfunctionality. Plants - forest resources - protection, economic and ecological functions. Animals - world zoogeographic division, geographical ranges of animals and their protection (The Red Book). Soils - distribution and multifunctionality, FAO/UNESCO classification. Air - air pollution and its impact on climate change. Ecological dimension of natural resources economy. |

(in Polish) Po ukończeniu przedmiotu student: WIEDZA: 1. zna najważniejsze rodzaje zasobów naturalnych świata 2. zna miejsca i wielkość wydobycia wybranych surowców mineralnych 3. zna alternatywne źródła energii 4. zna inne, niemineralne zasoby środowiska przyrodniczego UMIEJĘTNOŚCI: 1. umie wyjaśnić przyczyny przemian w podejściu człowieka do wykorzystania zasobów naturalnych 2. umie wyjaśnić przyczyny ograniczenia wydobycia niektórych surowców mineralnych 3. umie wskazać najważniejsze wady i zalety wykorzystania wybranych zasobów naturalnych POSTAWY: 1.rozumie znaczenie zachowania zasobów środowiska dla następnych pokoleń 2. ocenia znaczenie wykorzystania alternatywnych źródeł energii w bilansie energetycznym świata |
