Short description:	We study mathematical models of social dilemmas and their applications in social and natural sciences, using the formalism of game theory
Full description:	Groups of humans, institutions etc. often face situations in which individually rational decisions lead to group nonrational outcomes. Such situations are considered as social dilemmas. Various types of dilemmas (e.g., Prisoner's Dilemma, Tragedy of the Commons, Volunteer's Dilemma) and their solutions will be discussed using of the theory of strategic and evolutionary games. Evolutionary games descibe evolution of large systems, and may serve to solve the social dilemmas. We shall introduce basic mathematical tools of evolutionary games, the relevant discrete dynamic systems and ordinary differential equations, and discuss their applications to studies of social dilemmas. We shall consider multiplayer games, and games on networks The influence of random factors on the evolution of will be also discussed

Learning outcomes:	(in Polish) I. Wiedza i umiejętności: Zna podstawowe definicje związane z dylematami społecznymi i grami ewolucyjnymi. Potrafi podać przykłady gier ewolucyjnych, strategii ewolucyjnie stabilnej. Potrafi wyprowadzić równania replikatorowe i omówić ich zasadnicze własności. Potrafi stosować formalizm równań różniczkowych zwyczajnych do opisu gier ewolucyjnych rozgrywanych w dużych populacjach. Potrafi stosować rachunek prawdopodobieństwa do analizy gier strategicznych i ewolucyjnych z czynnikami losowymi. II.Kompetencje społeczne: Potrafi tworzyć matematyczne modele teoriogrowe sytuacji społecznych i układów biologicznych w których występują interakcje typu konkurencyjnego i kooperacyjnego, stworzyć opis ewolucji takich układów i opisać stany finalne za pomoca aparatu matematycznego teorii gier.
