Full description: |
The course is devoted to the most important special functions and their applications to differential equations. Selected topics: Differential equations in the complex domain and their singular points. and Hypergeometric functions and equations. Confluent and Bessel equations and functions. Orthogonal polynomials. Classical orthogonal polynomials: Hermite, Laguerre, Jacobi and Legendre. Selected integral transformations. Multiple orthogonal polynomials. Non-linear special functions (elliptic, Painleve). |
Learning outcomes: |
Knowledge: Knowledge of basic special functions Skills: Solving simple tasks using the most common special functions. Attitude: Appreciating the beauty, depth, and usefulness of special functions. |
