ECTS credit allocation (and other scores): 3.00 Basic information on ECTS credits allocation principles:
  • the annual hourly workload of the student’s work required to achieve the expected learning outcomes for a given stage is 1500-1800h, corresponding to 60 ECTS;
  • the student’s weekly hourly workload is 45 h;
  • 1 ECTS point corresponds to 25-30 hours of student work needed to achieve the assumed learning outcomes;
  • weekly student workload necessary to achieve the assumed learning outcomes allows to obtain 1.5 ECTS;
  • work required to pass the course, which has been assigned 3 ECTS, constitutes 10% of the semester student load.

It is expected that student known the principle of analytical chemistry and exhibits skilful to apply statistical method used for the evaluation of the set of numbers (measurements results)

Principle of metrology in chemistry, measurements rules, validation of analytical procedure, evaluation of the uncertainty of the measurement results, traceability of the chemical results, requirements of the international standard ISO-IEC 17025

Full description:

Introduction to metrology in physical and chemical results; international requirements in respect of the ISO/IEC 17025; validation of analytical procedure; uncertainty of the analytical results; traceability of the results of chemical measurements; certified reference materials and reference methods of measurements; interlaboratory comparisons; accreditation of chemical laboratories; national and international metrological infrastructure

Learning outcomes:

To be skilful in making the validation of analytical procedure, to evaluate the uncertainty of the measurement results and to establish the traceability of the chemical results, all according to the requirements of the international standard ISO-IEC 17025

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The written exam consisted of 5 questions which require the description and 2 questions which required the calculation of the uncertainty

Classes are mandatory, checked by the list of precence (3 obcences are accepted)

Participation in exercise session in Główny Urząd Miar
