Short description:	Characteristics and functioning of natural, rural, urban and industrial geoecosystems, exposed to different human impacts. Lecture (16h) and class training (16h).
Full description:	Content of the lecture: Explanation of main definitions: geoecosystem, geosystem, ecosystem and landscape; Recalling landscape physical attributes (rock types, relief, surface and underground waters, climate, soils, vegetation) and their interrelations. Typology and characteristics of natural landscapes in Poland. Characteristics and functioning of geoecosystems least changed by human activities (on the examples of primeval landscapes). Characteristics and functioning of rural geoecosystems (as example of the areas where human activities subordinate to the law of nature). Characteristics and functioning of urban areas. Characteristics and functioning of industrial sites, strongly transformed by humans. Legal norms regulating the landscape management. Sustainable landscapes. Content of the class training: Students investigate and analyze selected geoecosystems: natural and transformed by human activities - rural and urban. They elaborate the sustainable landscape project for selected geoecosystems. Student workload: 32h - attendance 40h - own work (repeat the material, read the recommended literature, preparation for classes) 72h total (or more, depending on the regularity at work during the semester, etc. features individual student)

Learning outcomes:	(in Polish) Po zakończeniu kursu student: Wiedza: - zna pojęcia geosystem, geoekosystem, ekosystem, krajobraz, - zna pojęcia związane z komponentami środowiska Umiejętności: - potrafi wyjaśnić zależności i związki między poszczególnymi komponentami środowiska w krajobrazie - potrafi opisać geologię, rzeźbę terenu, gleby i roślinność w podstawowym zakresie - potrafi całościowo spojrzeć na środowisko przyrodnicze - potrafi w opytmalnym zakresie określić wykorzystanie krajobrazu - umie określić wpływ środowiska na kierunki zagospodarowania przestrzenią - potrafi przewidzieć wpływ zagospodarowania przestrzennego terenu na środowisko przyrodnicze - umie w podstawowym zakresie określić cech krajobrazu zrównoważonego
Assessment methods and assessment criteria:	Lecture – written exam consisting of both - test and open queries (ca. 30) - including the content of lectures, class trainings and selected literature positions. Class trainings – continuous assessment; written assignments (consisting of cartographical and descriptive parts), discussions activity, presence. Preparing of the herbarium of the selected plant species present in the territory of Poland.
