Prerequisites (description):

During the classes, we will reflect on whether we can understand what rebellion and revolution are? During the course the student will learn different concepts regarding the analysis of what phenomena related to rebellion, resistance and revolutions are. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with knowledge and analysis on specific examples of phenomena related to rebellion, what social significance they have, how they influence attitudes or human identity. An important element of the course will be the approximation of something that could be described as: "education". It is about the process of learning such perception and acting in a world that causes rebellion.

Short description:

Classes are intended to bring together what revolts and revolutions, social and cultural resistance are and how to analyze specific examples. During the classes, we will wonder what effect rebellions have on history and society, and what their outcome is. In addition, we will examine specific examples of rebellions and revolutions.

Full description:

The aim of the classes is anthropological analysis of rebellions and revolutions. Classes will deal with both the type of rebellions that arise, how they run and what they characterize, what their impacts are and how they affect history and society. During the course we will look at various theories of rebellions and revolutions, we will also try to analyze some key examples of rebellions. We will be particularly interested in how rebel actors perceive the conditions in which it occurs (so they rebel) and which rebellions have an impact on the future of society, how they change politics, history and culture.

7. The year 1968 in the anthropological perspective

9. A systemic transformation or a peaceful revolution?

10. What is happening with a successful revolution: Zapatistas, Bolsheviks and Solidarity

11. Images of the rebellious people (images of people)

12. Heroes of the imagination

13. Images of rebels: from Robin Hood to Lenin

14. Is it possible to rebel after 1989?
