Short description:

1. The aim of the course is to show the character of human capital management and to provide the students with various educational experience in this field. Companies more often use the intellectual human capital, their motivation and skills to learn. They notice a bigger source of value and the power over the competition in this field of enterprises.

2. Basic content: Learning about human capital management from the viewpoint of a manager and personal development

Full description:

The aim of the course is to be familiar with:

• Hidden basics of work with the manager’s people

• The area of management and influence

• The model of AZOT (AdMIT Model)

• The ways of influencing people

• People’s natural rights and their consequences

• The styles of managing people: a hard and a soft style

• Characteristics of styles, their usage and meaning

• The meaning of assertiveness at work with people

• Leadership of the fifth level of Collins’a

• Determination in the manager’s work

• Humility at work with people

• Conception of a diversity manager

The rated total number of hours a student is required to spend in order to achieve the expected learning outcomes defined for the course: 30 + 25

Learning outcomes:

During and upon the course completion a student will:

• Define the basic dimensions of manager’s work

• Determine the borders of power when it comes to dealing with people at work

• Specify situations included in AZOT model

• Describe ways of influencing people that are important for himself

• Set the rules and natural rights that are important for himself

• Set difficult situations demanding an assertive position

• Characterise a hard and a soft style of influencing people (push-pull)

• Demonstrate elements of influencing styles

• Show positive and negative sides of a soft and a hard style

• Recognise situations favourable for occurrence of the styles

• Set the scope of determination of dealing with people that he needs

• Be familiar with possibilities that are caused by humility in dealing with people

• Show the concept of a diversity manager
