Prerequisites (description):

Short description:

The lecture is intended for students of various faculties, future managers, consultants, employees of international companies in the country and abroad. During the classes we will talk about visible and invisible barriers in international communication, we will define communication difficulties arising in international business due to cultural differences. We will show how to deal with such situations, e.g. using the mind map method

Full description:

The topics are divided into an introduction and three main parts. In the introduction, we will discuss how we can see the relationship between national culture and the culture of work organization in business, we will introduce basic models. Then, in the first part, we will characterize national cultures according to previously learned models, along with the principles of culturally conditioned savoir vivre, in the second part of the classes, we will talk about the cultural map according to Erin Meyer (a woman on the Thinkers50 list of the 50 most influential people in the business world).

At the end, according to Meyer's concept, we will make individual “cultural maps" - this part can be called a workshop. In this case, the map should be understood as a mind map.

Short meetings with representatives of different cultures are planned (you need to know English).
