Short description: |
The course aims to introduce the basics of investing in the capital market. During subsequent meetings, course participants will be introduced to capital market concepts, i.e. classification of financial instruments, supervisory institutions and market participants. In particular, the following will be presented: profitability and risk of financial investments, and basic measures of investment performance. The course will conclude with a presentation on how to manage investment risk, and the basics of investment portfolio construction. |

After the completion of the course the student: - be able to decide on the choice of instruments to invest in the capital market - find differences between equity and debt instruments - decide on the choice of investment - estimate the investment risk - apply derivatives to manage financial risk - compare investment performance - construct a portfolio of instruments with an assumed level of risk |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
A pass in the form of a single-choice test in a remote form on an online platform. Possibility to increase the grade by one step for students who actively participate in the classes. |
