1. Basic concepts of tourism (2 hours): • Concept and essence of tourism; • Tourism and recreation; • Touristic movement; • Tourist. 2. Kinds of tourism and conditioning of their formation (1,5 hours): • Criterions of tourism division; • Classification of tourism; • Basic kinds of tourism 3. Processes of tourism development (1,5 hours): • Phases of tourism development; • Present touristic business; The outline of history of tourism development in Poland. 4. Goods and attractions tourism, infrastructure and touristic base (2 hours): • Goods and attractions tourism; • Development of areas and touristic infrastructure; • Kinds of touristic services. 5. Product and touristic market (2 hours): • Touristic market; • Touristic product - essence and structure; • Touristic supply; • Touristic demand; • Touristic packet. 6. Tourism economy (2 hours): • Concept and essence of tourism economy; • The relationships of tourism with transportation; • The relationships of tourism with agriculture; • The relationships of tourism with industry; • The relationships of tourism with culture; • The relationships of tourism with sport. 7. Factors of tourism development (2 hours) • Classification of factors of tourism development; • Infrastructure and touristic development; • Economic factors. • Social factors. • Factors environmental -ecological. 8. Tourism as factor of transformation (2 hours): • Essence and range of changes; • Hosts’ attitudes to transformation and their preparation; • Tourists’' attitudes – expectation and changes; • Transformation in receptive locality, • Transformation in emissory locality. 9. Functions and dysfunction of tourism (2 hours): • Concept of tourism functions; • Functions of modern tourism;; • Dysfunction of modern tourism. 10. Recapitulation and credits (1 hours). |

Learning outcomes: |
After completing the course students should: • systematize - based on prior knowledge - essence of tourism activity; • assimilate the basic concepts related to tourism; • know the basic factors conducive and restrictive the development of tourism. |
Assessment methods and assessment criteria: |
Grading - to be held: • in writing, • descriptive answers in the form of four questions, 15 minutes for each, • for each question, it is possible to get 5 points on a scale of 0 to 5, with a: 11 - 12 points - mark 3 (satisfactory), 13-14 points - mark 3.5 rating (satisfactory plus), 15-16 points – mark 4 (good), 17-18 points - mark 4.5 rating (good plus), 19 - 20 points - mark 5 (very good). • there is a possibility of an oral examination, if such a demand from students, including: • questions presented in syllabus (discussed in classes and included in the literature), • students the need to demonstrate knowledge these questions and their ability to apply in practice, a concrete example. Students who have not passed the course, you can get credit in the amendment session. |
