Full description:

Participants will receive support from the instructor in the implementation of their projects aimed at the preparation of their thesis. The tutor welcomes students who are interested in projects with a geographical coverage of the whole Mediterranean basin, within the contractual timeframe between 500 BCE and 1500 CE.

Good teaching is based on engagement, choice, creative thinking and good communication. Therefore, the proposed class takes the form of a conversation course and is aimed at students interested in supporting the development of a research project carried out by the student as preparation for the writing of a thesis - whether at undergraduate or graduate level.

Assessment methods and assessment criteria:

The classes will be based on individual meetings between the students and the tutor. Once a month there will be joint meetings of all participants to discuss the progress of the work. The class is designed to help formulate project topics, collect data for them, inspire discussion of research problems and solve workshop-type problems.

Credit for the class will be based on assessable progress in writing papers e.g. in the form of notes, datasets and finished chapters. The participant's activity during the whole cycle of meetings will also be assessed.
